1. Do I have to pay anything to use this site?
No, at present The Student Supermarket is free to use as a
limited introductory offer, the only charges are those that you have
to pay to the seller. There are no charges for listing an item.
2. Can I sell anything on this site?
All items sold on this site must be in accordance with the policies that
have been listed in the policies section.
3. What happens if a someone commits to buying my item but does not pay?
It is recommended that if this happens that the first thing you should do is to contact
the seller yourself via the message system. If the problem cannot be resolved then contact
The Student Supermarket with the relevant information about the transaction and we will discuss
the matter with you and advice you on the best course of action.
4. When should I pay for an item?
You should pay for an item as soon as you have committed to buying it, in most cases the seller
will not post an item until they have received payment.
5. I have paid for an item but have not received it?
In the event of this happening the first thing that you should do
is to contact the seller via the message system. If the seller does
not resolve the issue with you or respond to you answer then you should
contact The Student Supermarket immediately. Also we only allow users
to pay via PayPal at present as they offer buyer protection for cases
such as these, so please visit their website and they will provide you
with the relevant course of action.
6. Is it not Plagiarism to buy other people work such as an essay?
No, the purpose of allowing people to sell items such as an essay is so
the buyer can use it for research methods only (such as using a textbook to
complete your work). This site is not like the essay mills that charge people
£100’s of pounds for essays with a guaranteed grade, we would advise our
sellers to provide works such as essays at a small charge for the aid of
others who can use them for research purposes. The Student Supermarket in
no way encourages plagiarism. It simply allows talented users a place to
showcase their works.
7. How much should I charge for my work?
This is entirely up to the seller, The Student Supermarket would advise for
items such as written work not to charge a large fee as other sites do, as the
prospective buyers may be put off, as the idea of providing a selling place for
items such as these is to allowed the buyers to purchase them as resources for
research. Other types of work items such as paintings or photography are at
the seller’s discretion depending on what they feel the value is.
8. I bought a students piece of work, can I re-sell it at a later date?
This is something that the seller needs to make clear to the buyer, if they
are selling the rights to their work or not. If the seller has not put this
information in their listing it would be advisable to contact them before you
take any action in re-selling an item. If a seller has explicitly said they
are not selling the rights to an item and you are seen to be re-selling it
on this site or any other place then you are subject to legal action from the
author of the material.
9. How long will my listing remain on the site for?
By default the item listing will kept on the site for 8weeks
from the date it is listed. However the seller can remove it from
the site at anytime they wish using the “Remove Listing” option
in “My Items”.
10. Do I have to leave feedback for users I have dealt with?
Whilst there is not official requirement to leave feedback on other users,
it is highly recommended that all users do as it is very helpful for all users
of the site and can be of high importance to users as to whether they deal
with a certain user or not.
11. Someone has threatened to leave negative feedback on my profile unless I meet their demands?
In the event that this happens then contact The Student Supermarket immediately and we will deal with the issue.
